Individual and Family Coverage
Most Private Market plans are application-based and applicants need to be in relatively good health. They offer Nationwide PPO Networks, more flexibility in designing your plan, and some have Guaranteed Renewability until age 65. These plans also have sought-after supplemental benefits such as Accident Protection, Critical Illness Coverage, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, and Short-term Disability. The majority of plans include up-front benefits for Primary Care or Specialist Dr. Visits, Prescriptions, X-rays, Lab Services, Urgent Care, Chiropractic, and Preventative Care. Short-term options are also available if you only need a plan for 1-6 months.
Private Market Plans
The State Marketplace aka “Obamacare” plans cover pre-existing conditions, maternity, and mental health, but are expensive due to their nature. To make them more affordable, the government offers subsidies based on household size and pre-tax income. Those who make above a certain amount will have to pay the “sticker” price. Enrollment is open Nov. 1st through Dec. 15th, and during special enrollment events like moving, changing job/losing current coverage, or having a child. These plans are limited to your resident state or geographic area, and are typically a smaller size network like an HMO or EPO. We work with these plans too and can help you navigate The Marketplace.
